• There is plenty of material in the book to use. The cinematography was breath-taking and made Prince Edward Island look absolutely beautiful. The 1985 version is a hard act to beat as it more true to the book but you should still enjoy this movie thanks to Ella Ballantine. She made a wonderful Anne of Green Gables.
